The Trinity Hymnal (Presbyterian edition) has it different.
He left His Father's throne above,
So free, so infinite His grace.
Humbled himself (so great his love!)
And bled for all his chosen race.
Another thing I noticed in the Trinity Hymnal is in O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing, the fourth stanza begins: He breaks the power of reigning sin in. However, I visited my brother’s church (Baptist) and their hymnal said: He breaks the power of canceled sin.
