It is my design to lay down rules for the true keeping of that time of Christmas, which is now approaching.

I. I shall show you when you may be said, not to observe this festival aright.

II. I shall show you, when your observation and celebrating of this festival is done according to the glory of God, and to the true manner of keeping of it.

III. Shall conclude with an exhortation to all of you, high and low, rich and poor, one with another, to have a regard to your behavior at all times, but more especially, my dear brethren, on this solemn occasion.

A debate is now going on as to how people's of the world should should be allowed to express their sentiments in regard to this day called "Christmas". However, there is and has been for some time, much debate among the churches of God as to whether or not it is even allowable to recognize and/or celebrate that day. To some, it is a day of rejoicing in the coming of the God in the flesh; a fulfillment of the prophetic word that a Saviour would come to save His people from their sins. To others the day is disdained and even considered to be idolatry.

In this sermon, George Whitefield, a man gifted of God and esteemed by men as a preacher of truth and of the gospel of Christ, he seeks to offer a biblical answer to this contentious issue. If nothing else, Whitefield has earned the right to be heard. May the Lord bless all who read his words.
