May Your Reign Come
The reign of God is His guiding and governing of His own people by His Holy Spirit, in order to show them, in all their works, the riches of His generosity and mercy.
The reign of God is also his throwing into the abyss and His confounding of the reprobate who are unwilling to submit to His rule, and the throwing down of their accursed arrogance, so that it might be clearly demonstrated that no power can stand against His.
We pray, therefore, that God's reign may come. By this we are praying that the Lord will multiply each day the number of believers who celebrate His glory in all their works, and that He will pour the abundant supply of His graces more profusely upon them, in order to live and reign in them in ever greater measure, until, having perfectly untied them to Himself, He may fill them entirely.
We are also asking that God, by new and increased numbers, will so cause His light and truth to shine every day so that Satan, his lies, and the darkness of his reign, may be scattered and done away with.
When we pray in this way, 'May God's kingdom come, we are asking, finally, for this kingdom to be definitively brought to perfection and completed;
We are asking that there should come the disclosure of His judgment—the day when He alone will be exalted and will be all in all, after having gathered His own people and received them into glory, and having demolished and brought down the reign of Satan.
