There is much talk these days about the rapid growth of the cults. Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian Science, Mormonism, the Unification Church, and a host of lesser-known groups are making converts at astounding rates. Yet, the combined effect of all these groups is over-shadowed by a movement that in the last few years has grown to include over 30% of the U.S. population. The amazing development of what might be called “Born-againism” is affecting all sectors of our society. What the author, Richard Ochs, sees as happening in the last few years I believe has been happening for over 150 years since the introduction and infection of the "New Measures" ushered in by Charles Grandison Finney. However, be that as it may, what Richard Ochs writes about, "Born Againism" is undeniably true and he is also correct in his stand against it. Make no mistake... the "born againism" phenomena is not restricted to just fundamentalist denominations and churches. Not a few Reformed churches have adopted this pernicious error as well. In short, it knows no bounds. You can read this month's article by clicking here: Born Againism. Or, you can read it later by going to the Article of the Month section or here Soteriology - The Doctrine of Salvation. In His service and grace,
simul iustus et peccator
