How? All registered members are able to rate a thread. How? When reading any message, scroll to the very bottom of the page and see the "Extra Information" table. There are LOTS of things there including the Rating feature. Just choose the number of stars you want to give as a rating from the drop down menu and click the button. In addition, what is the purpose of the left-most column with the imploding tree? Does it indicate strife within the thread? And, again who sets it and how? And this "left-most column", in what page are you referring to? e.g., the Main Index page where all the forums are displayed? A Forum page that displays all the threads?
