Thanks for this article on the "real" saint patrick. It makes me want to read a copy of his whole testimony. I also have a wonderful aquaintence who I have wanted for years to talk to about Christ, but she is catholic and I have never known of a good way to broach the subject, but after visiting Bennett's site and reading his testimony, I'm considering sending her a copy of it; as this in not only a wonderful demonstration of the power of Heb. 4:12, but is so from a uniquely Roman Catholic perspective.
Glad to hear that the article benefited you, even if in a way that most couldn't appreciate in a personal way as it did you. If you go here: Roman Catholicism you will see quite a number of articles written by my friend Richard Bennett, including his testimony. There are other testimonies there also by former nuns as well as many other informative articles. ENJOY!
Thanks Pilgrim, I found it and sent it to my pastor who is Scottish.
What are your thought on children who die? You asked that question, and I know what I have believed for many years, yet I have been attending a PCA church for 1 year and have had to rethink the things I have believed all these years. I formerly was a Reformed Baptist.
Can you help me? I am going back through the inquirers class because my pastor is teaching it and we study the covenant along with infant baptism.
Please don't encourage me to start another thread or discussion, as I could literally just sit around most if not all the day talking about the very things that are on this discussion baord, or read the books we love so much.
I am saddened at times I can't seem to find anyone who would like to discuss so much of these very dear and precious truths here in person!!
When I feel more confident in this, you will then ask me to stop asking so many questions. I don't have acomputer at home, otherwise I would be on this to the detriment of my kids(17 & 19 are still at home)
Speaking from someone who has been involved on the Highway for more than five years, I can assure you that people will be more than happy to help you with any questions you have. Pilgrim just said that to you, because your question was off topic and would be better answered in a new thread.
I just love my pastor, but he seems to never respond to my questions, even though there are only about 150 members in our church. I know he is busy, but there are probably only 3 people who even know who the puritans are, much less read them.
This is just such a blessing for me to have people who are excited about answering any wuestion.
Linda:

I know how you feel. I'm reminded of the scriptures that tell us there is "a remanant according to the election of grace".

Hang in there.

Gerrry
A good book to read that contains Patrick's conversion is "How the Irish Saved Western Civilization" The author's name escapes me at the moment and my Pastor has the book so I can't reference the cover. I'm sure your local christian bookstore would have it.
True godliness is a sincere feeling which loves God as Father as much as it fears and reverences Him as Lord, embraces His righteousness, and dreads offending Him worse than death~ Calvin
