Since being designated as a Supporter, I am no longer receiving email notification of replies to my posts. I checked my settings and cannot see any changes. Any suggestions?

The way you have your options configured now, it appears that you should receive e-mail notifications for all replies to posts in your "Favorite Threads", e.g., you should receive a notification of my reply here. There is another option which you don't have enabled which is: Do you want replies to YOUR posts emailed to you? This should be self-explanatory. So, have you tried this feature to see if that works? Is there anyone else who is a "Supporter" who is no longer receiving e-mail notifications for new replies to those threads which you have enabled as a "Favorite Thread"? Knowing this would help us to understand if this is a global problem or one unique to yourself. 1) Some ISP's have been known to designate e-mail coming from this site as SPAM and thus blocking notifications, subscriptions, etc. We aren't the only ones that have experienced this by any means. 2) Do you have an anti-Spam program running on your own PC that might be blocking incoming e-mail from The Highway? 3) Have you made any changes on your PC that have to do with "security"? 4) Have you recently installed any new programs on your PC which are security/privacy related? Answer the above questions and let's see what we can do from there.

Jeff, thanks for your always quick response.
No, I did not received a response via email.
I enabled the option that you mentioned - do you want replies to Your posts emailed to you. Let's see if that works.
My internet provider has a SPAM software, so that may be the culprit. I haven't received any EZBoard replies for several weeks now, but until the last 2-3 days I've been receiving The Highway replies. However, I get an email from my provider daily listing all the emails that was blocked. I see the EZBoard reply emails, but haven't seen one from The Highway yet.
On another subject, what is the Subscription status for the following forums. (Receive a daily archive of all posts to this forum via your Real email address.) option? Does it send you the subject headers of the daily postings, or the entire content. Some days there may be 50-100 postings.

A couple of things.
Now since I started receiving email notification again, notice that when I read a new post, it resets it as being read. It hadn't been doing that. So that might be clue to the puzzle.
Now I have a double reply notification. Henry replied to my Sproul's post and I received two email notifications. One for the enabled 'all emails' and another for 'my favorites'. It appears by enabling the former, corrected the problem I was having with the latter. Computer glitches!!!
What do you think if I disabled 'my favorites' option in receiving replies?

John, I'll try and answer your 3 questions here: 1) Try and disable the "Favorites" option if you like. That one sends an e-mail for ANY/ALL replies in a thread, while the other sends e-mails to replies to your personal posts only. Also, see below for another idea. 2) The "Subscription" feature sends you a daily digest of all messages that have been posted in the specified FORUM for all Threads; not the entire Board (all forums and threads). 3) The "read" feature change may be indicative of a corrupt "cookie", which also may be the cause of your first problem with e-mail notifications. So..... This was going to be my next recommendation if nothing was found in my previous suggestions to be wrong. And, I would suggest you do this now. - Go to "My Home"
- Scroll down to the very bottom of the page to the "Main Configuration" table
- Click on "My Cookies"
- Follow the prompts (very simple)
- Login after the process ends as instructed
What this does is delete your current "Cookie", which contains your login information and preferences and creates a new one. After you do that, you might want to disable the "e-mail notifications for replies to YOUR posts" and use only the "Favorites" feature as you had set originally to see if it then works, unless you prefer the feature which only sends notifications for replies to YOUR posts only. Let me know if things work and/or if you continue to experience any further anomalies. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/biggrinking.gif) ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/genie2sm.gif)

Jeff, thanks again.
I'll do that when I get back on Tuesday.
I'll be travelling to Mississippi for the Labor Day weekend today. Now, I got to get ready to go to work, then I will leave directly from there this afternoon on my trip.

- Scroll to the very bottom of the page and see the "Main Configuration" section.
- Click on "My Cookies" (beside, Maintenance)
- Follow the prompts to delete your current cookie.
- You will have to Login again, which will create a new "cookie"
Let us know if that resolves the problem. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/biggrinking.gif)

Jeff,
I tried to get to that page. I clicked on "my cookie" and I got the same message that I did when trying to get my PM. It says "Web server busy." I can move around no problem on the board except when I try and do those two things.

Sorry Jeff.. I was wrong about what it says. Here is what it says:
Web Site Not Responding The web site you have requested may be experiencing technical difficulties due to a busy or broken server.
Please try again by clicking the Reload icon on your navigation bar or, if that doesn't work, you may want to return to the site at a later time.

Michele, It sounds like there may be some bad "routing" between your PC and through the network to the server where the Board resides. OR.... it may be a problem with the database server, in which case, there is nothing I can do about that either. Another thing you might try is: - Logout
- In your browser, click on "Tools/Internet Options"
- On the "General" tab, click on "Delete Files" for the item, "Temporary Internet Files". (This will clear your cache)
- Refresh your browser
- Login to the Board and see if you can use the "My Cookie" utility again.
Let me know how you make out. I'm ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/hungry.gif) so I'm going to go feed my face. But I'll be back in a short while, D.v. Perhaps one of the other Admins/Mods could help out in my absence if needed.

Michele, Okay..... I have done some further investigation ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/detective.gif) and I think I know what the possible cause for your problem is. First, let me explain that there are two options you can opt into so as to receive e-mail notifications for post replies: 1) Do you want replies to YOUR posts emailed to you? This option you have chosen, "No". So, when someone replies specifically to something you have posted, you will not be notified of that reply. 2) Do you want all replies to your favorite threads emailed to you? This option you have chosen, "Yes". Which means that you should receive e-mail notification of ANY messages posted in those threads which you have made your "Favorite Thread", which I see you have several, including this one. Now..... you also have said that you are not getting e-mail notifications for PM's sent to you, if I remember correctly. Okay.... now here is where I think the problem lies. I also noticed that you have an "AOL" e-mail address. It is a known issue that AOL has blocked "the-highway.com" as ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/Spam.gif) . Why? Who knows... AOL is notorious for doing such things as this; one of the many reasons I detest AOL. Anyway, it is very possible that the notification e-mails and subscriptions you have signed up for are being blocked by your server. There are others here who have experienced this same thing, who also are using AOL. Okay.... what's the solution? There are a couple of options which I can suggest: 1) Change your e-mail address in your Personal Information to something other than AOL, if you have another one you use. And then see if the notifications get through. 2) Contact your AOL tech support and ask them (insist if necessary) that they check to see if "the-highway.com" has been black listed. If it has INSIST that they unblock it because you have subscription services you have personally signed up for and want/need to receive. I hope this helps and/or resolves the problem.

Jeff,
I am right there with ya brother. I detest AOL too. We only use it because my husbands work has a dealie poo with them.. so we pay $3 a month. I am not in any financial position to change it now though. I will do what you said with the tech help, and also make the changes in my acct. here. I did actually get to my pm last night too.. so I was glad for that.
Thank you for looking into this for me. I do appreciate it.
Michele
