Thanks for the list of suggested reading, Joe. As you know, I have been(and continue to be) delving into this area as well. I have read a few of the selections on your list, but most I have never heard of! (I copied the list for future reference) Can you direct me to the one or two "must reads" on the list?

Blessings,
Kim

These particular books are must needs books IMHO:

With Reverence and Awe, by D.G. Hart and John Muether
Give Praise to God, edited by Philip Ryken
Worship, Reformed According to Scripture, by Hughes Oliphant Old
Immanuel in Our Place, by Tremper Longman (emphasis in the OT)

I would add to that list, Worship in the Melting Pot, by Dr. Peter Masters.

I primarily buy books from The Discerning Reader. One resource that wasn't listed (that I've used often) is the Presbyterian Church in America Christian Education and Publications http://www.pcacep.org/

Also, here are three great links for finding the lowest priced books online:

CUMBERLAND VALLEY BIBLE BOOK STORE IS CRAZY CHEAP.

It's unbelievable what you can get there. I got Calvin's commentaries for a hundred bucks, and 150 of Spurgeon's sermons in SO NICE hardbound covers and everything for like twenty! It's insane! If I didn't know better, I'd think that they'd be in the diamond stealing buisness with a bible bookstore front! And the people are so nice as well.

I suppose being RIGHT NEXT to the Banner of Truth publishing house helps, but still, it's so crazy cheap there.

And no, I am definitely not a worker there, or the family member of anyone that does -- I am just very impressed with the service, quality, and prices of that book store.

My favourite Christian bookstores are not mentioned on the list:
http://www.banneroftruth.org/pages/home.php
http://www.tabernaclebookshop.org/

but I also quite often order via amazon.com (especially when buying books in America) because the postage is quite low (I live in Europe)

The Reformed Free Publishing Association is good if you like to read someone who’s not dead or a least lived in the 1900’s. The gospel mission in Montana is by far the cheapest although I can’t recommend all their authors.

Just for those who may not be aware..... the "Reformed Free Publishing Association" is part of the Protestant Reformed Church. Thus one must be prudent when selecting their publications.
