This year was my first time ever to get to go to the PCRT conference in Indianapolis. The conference was entitled "Christ and His Church." It was, of course, a very joyful and sobering time of teaching and worship. I especially enjoyed the Pre-Conference with Mark Dever in which he talked about the centrality of the Word, the content of the Gospel, and the difference between the church and the world. I won't say that I learned tons of stuff but I will say that I learned a few key elements really well which I think is better than learning a little bit about a ton of stuff. Anyways I urge anyone to go to Colordo Springs or PA ,the other two locations, if they have a chance.

Also you wouldn't believe the library of books they have their. I finally got to get Petrus Dathenus' The Pearl of Christian Comfort and another title that I'm not sure if anyone has heard of, John Owen's The Death of Death in the Death of Christ.

I thought I would just share a little bit and encourage y'all (my southern accent) to go.

Ehud

Wow, Ehud! That sounds like a wonderful conference. I do hope to be able to go one of these years to the one in Philadelphia, which is usually held at Tenth Presbyterian Church--the church pastored by Boice before his death. I am so glad you were able to go to this one.

Theo

Ehud,

The PCRT is one of my favorites. I have lots of great memories from past attendences. My first was back in 1978 in Wheaton, Ill. Some of the speakers were the then young(er) R.C. Sproul, Sr., John Gerstner, Roger Nicole, James Boice and the Westminster Brass played throughout the Conference. The topic was "The Doctrines of Grace"! Absolutely incredible..... !! Glad you enjoyed yourself and even learned a little bit too. That always makes it worthwhile, doesn't it? yeh, something like that:

P: Presbyterian
C: Conference
R: Reformed
T: Theology

Presbyterian Conference on Reformed Theology. They have been around for over 25 years and grown tremendously in popularity as the various places they are held each year increases. Try one....... you'll like it! And no, the emphasis is not on "Presbyterian" but on "Reformed Theology". Believe it or not, there ARE many Baptists who attend these conferences and love them. Sounds good. I am not Presbyterian, but I am reformed and have an interest in Reformed Theology. Are these conferences suited for laymen/women? How do they compare to Ligonier conferences?

Interestingly enough, I notice that at the 2003 conference, the speakers included some Baptists and a Lutheran.
Steve

I would love to go to one of these conferences, however unless God intervenes I can't see that happening. I would have to take a separate holiday from my family, sigh...

Tom
Thanks, Wes. The Indianapolis one would have been the easiest for me to attend--less travel and less expense. I hope that they have a conference there next year.
