Hey all,

I was referred here by another list I'm on to see if you could help me out. My wife and I recently returned to the Central Iowa area (Des Moines) and are looking for a new church home. Due to a change in ministry philosophy, we most likely won't be returning to our old church home.

We came from a theologically conservative Christian & Missionary Alliance church in Minnesota. We'd like to find a church that is rock solid theologically (and I'd consider myself mostly in agreement with the reformers) but a contemporary style of worship (in other words, not afraid to sing a song written yesterday as long as it matches up with Scripture).

Not too picky, eh?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thomas

Thomas,

Welcome to the Highway. If you would be willing to consider a PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) church, this one is in Des Moines:

I don't know anything about their style of worship, but their website really impressed me.

Thanks for the welcome. I had looked at their website before and liked a lot of it. Unfortunately, I'd like to find a church that isn't all hymns (which their bulletin looks like they are). I know, I know, I know...I'm a picky guy.

Maybe I'll give the Pastor a call today with my "list o' questions" and see what he says.
