Has anyone ever received any of these squishy sentimental emails that ends with: "....if you really love Jesus you will pass this on to ten other friends...."?

I just got one called "The Jesus Test" as if the proof and mark of one’s love for Christ is whether or not you forward an email! Not only that, but they usually have a "picture" of Jesus in them along with the popular undoctrinal sentimentality that you find in modern Christendom today.

Does anyone else get these or have any thoughts?

I only have two friends and they will not speak to me but who cares for if a man has no enemies he probably doesn't believe anything.

Sounds like spam to me!
Seriously though I think confrontational (face to face) evangelism is the way to go.

Yep. If and when my friends send me one of them I tell them that I don't appreciate that kind of stuff and will not forward it on. I don't participate in chain messages and prayers which promise you a blessing for keeping it going.

Maybe I'm a stuck in the mud but I think they simply play on your sentiment and have little value.

The ones I get don't promise blessing. Rather they imply that if you don't forward it to others, then you don't love Christ or are ashamed of Him.

I use to get those emails claiming that I was ashamed of Christ if I did not resend the email. I thought about sending an email back saying, "If the only time you talk about Christ to others is through an email then you are already ashamed of him."

I never did though. It was just easier to delete it.
