Anyone here ever heard of or been exposed to an evangelism program called "Christianity Explained" by Michael Bennett?? Just wondering if it's a "sound" program. Thanks for any information.

I have the materials at home. It is a good program based on Mark's gospel from a Sydney diocese Anglican minister.

In Christ,

James.

Thanks for the input. We are looking for a new church home and there is a church that uses this program so I was just curious about it.

My own church uses this study. It is generally good, and we end up using it more as an outline. We especially like the focus on the Lordship of Christ. It is so much better than most evangelism tools today! It also is very textually focused, so even though the authors are Anglican, it is safe to use and to add to if necessary.

There are parts that we have made more distinctly Reformed- stressing that regeneration is a supernatural work of God that precedes faith (this is important to tell a community like ours that thinks one is a Christian because of growing up in a Christian home or walking down an aisle when one was 7 or because of trying to "clean up one's own life"). Also, there are a few parts that are unhelpful- not sure what the "assume nothing" intro is about, and we explain the part about childlike faith as being about our own helplessness. It's not about children being any less sinful or anything like that.

All in all, it is good, but like anything else, be discerning.

True godliness is a sincere feeling which loves God as Father as much as it fears and reverences Him as Lord, embraces His righteousness, and dreads offending Him worse than death~ Calvin
