I tried looking for the answer in the BCO, but I could not find the answer. IMO, the BCO is poorly organized and difficult in finding information.
Do Presbyterian denominations honor discipline actions by other Reformed bodies. If a teaching Elder is censored/removed by one denomination will other denominations deem the person under discipline as well. IOW, does Presbyterian polity cross denomination lines. I'm guessing the PCA would not consider the PCUSA courts, but how about those denominations that share fraternal relations?
Now, back to a specific denomination. If a Presbytery within the denomination censors/removes an Elder from office, does that discipline apply to all Presbyteries in the denomination.
I realize that the Presbyteries will take seriously those charges, but are they required to adhere to another Presbyery discipline. Or, would the discipline need to be taken to the GA for it to be denominational wide?
