- Ronald Reagan

"Of the four wars in my lifetime none came about because the U.S.was too strong."

"I have wondered at times about what the Ten Commandment's would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress."

- Ronald Reagan

"The taxpayer: That's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination."

- Ronald Reagan

"Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other."

- Ronald Reagan

"If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."

- Ronald Reagan

"The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a government program."

His two terms was great for us. I wish I could have voted for him.

While in Iraq, my unit had a web page, which I was in charge of. I had quotes of the week, I loved using quotes by Reagan.

If you like the quotes of Ronald Reagan check out the quotes of Janice Rodgers Brown. She appears to have been influenced by him.
http://www.neoperspectives.com/janicerogersbrown.htm
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." Janice Rodgers Brown

"My grandparents' generation thought being on the government dole was a disgraceful, a blight on the family honor. Today's senior citizens blithely cannibalize their grandchildren because they have a right 'free' stuff as the political system will permit them to extract."
Janice Rodgers Brown

Johnnie,

I recently had the opportunity to go to a lecture given by Judge Brown. Seems she's a great appointment.

I hope she is Bush's next pick for the Supreme Court.

Thanks for introducing me to Judge Janice Rodgers Brown. I like what I've read in the material you've provided because she (like Reagan) is well informed historically and sees things clearly. She does seem to have some of the same whit, wisdom, and communication skills of our former President. Truly we need more like her in our court system.

I used to go to her church (Church of Christ - link) about four or five years ago before I left it and started going to a Reformed church. She was a California State Supreme Court Justice at the time.

I remember her and the minister co-taught a Sunday school adult class series called "Politics and the Fall of Man". She covered the secular/political side and the preacher applied the scripture. I always wondered if it was scriptural for a woman to be teaching a class with men in attendance. I don't think it was.

Anyway, she is a solid conservative politically.

This is from the Quotable Conservative:

Today there is an increasing number who can't see a fat man standing beside a thin one without automatically coming to the conclusion the fat man got that way by taking advantage of the thin one.-- Ronald Reagan
