Yesterday, I hurriedly made a post and when I reviewed it this morning, I noticed a spelling typo and a period for a question instead of a question mark. When I clicked on the Edit button, a pop-up displayed with a message telling me that the time has expired for editing the post.

Is that true for all posts, and how much time do we have in editing our posts?

I have had a few of my posts wiped out when I was previewing them and correcting a few things. Maybe I'm a bit slow! How much time are we allowed in composing and previewing a post before it is all wiped out?

Susan,

What do you mean your posts were "wiped out"?? There is no time limit restriction for composing or previewing a post. Can you explain what happened?

OK, I would be typing and previewing my post and making some changes when suddenly without me doing anything at all that I can recall, the page would change to a white page that says the page has expired! I will paste what it says exactly the next time it happens. Maybe it is my computer then?

Susan,

I can't think of anything off hand that would cause what you experienced in regard to the Board itself. [Linked Image] Yes, if you can get a screenshot of the error dialog or at least the exact text the next time, should it happen again, I would really like to see it.

Sorry I can't be of any help to you at this point.

OK I'll get back to you on that then. It's good it isn't happening to others too.

Warning: Page has Expired The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you.

To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button.

It happened again and I believe it is somehow related to the backspace button since that's the key I was touching when this has happened before. It's the backspace key you use to delete words. We just got this keyboard new so this is very odd!

Susan,

Can you tell me what O/S you are running, e.g., Win 98SE, ME, XP SP-1, etc.?

And can you tell me what browser you are using, e.g.: IE 6.0, IE 5.5, Mozilla Firebird, Netscape 4.7, 7.1, Opera, etc.?

It's Windows 98

and I think it is IE 6.0

Also, sometimes instead of going to the expired page I mentioned , it goes back to the message I am replying to, and my message is likewise wiped out.
If I hit the back button after reading a thread, sometimes I will get an expired page instead of seeing the list of posts . Does that help?

Susan,

Here's a little information which you perhaps didn't know and might help explain what you are experiencing.

The backspace key functions the same as the "back" button in the browser if no text is selected or you aren't in a text box. And when working wth forms etc... you often can't go back. So you need to make sure you click next to the text you want to edit or hightlight some text before pushing the key.

No, I didn't know this, but this had happened to me when I have been in the process of deleting a word. The curser has been in the text box next to the word I am deleting. I am going to be very careful about using the back button now or I will just compose my posts elsewhere and paste it when I am done.

Susan,

I apologize for this aggravating situation and wish I had something more substantive to offer which would resolve the issue for you. What I can offer you, however, is a glimmer of hope in that there is an update coming out soon for the Board and after it is implemented, perhaps this issue will no longer exist.

There is one more thing you might try.... go to your "My Home" and scroll down to the very bottom of the page. Click on "My cookies" and follow the prompts. You will have to login again when done. What this does is simply delete the "cookie" you now have and create a new one. Hey! can't hurt, eh?

OK, I deleted the cookies. Maybe that will help.
