Let us be exhorted to exalt God alone, and ascribe to him all the glory of redemption. Let us endeavour to obtain, and increase in, a sensibleness of our great dependence on God, to have our eye to him alone, to mortify a self-dependent and self-righteous disposition. Man is naturally exceedingly prone to exalt himself, and depend on his own power or goodness; as though from himself he must expect happiness. He is prone to have respect to enjoyments alien from God and his Spirit, as those in which happiness is to be found—But this doctrine should teach us to exalt God alone; as by trust and reliance, so by praise. Let him that glorieth, glory in the Lord. Hath any man hope that he is converted, and sanctified, and that his mind is endowed with true excellency and spiritual beauty? that his sins are forgiven, and he received into God's favour, and exalted to the honour and blessedness of being his child, and an heir of eternal life? let him give God all the glory; who alone makes him to differ from the worst of men in this world, or the most miserable of the damned in hell. Hath any man much comfort and strong hope of eternal life, let not his hope lift him up, but dispose him the more to abase himself, to reflect on his own exceeding unworthiness of such a favour, and to exalt God alone. Is any man eminent in holiness, and abundant in good works, let him take nothing of the glory of it to himself, but ascribe it to him whose "workmanship we are, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.
~ Sermon by Jonathan Edwards. "Man ought to glorify God."

May Your Reign Come
The reign of God is His guiding and governing of His own people by His Holy Spirit, in order to show them, in all their works, the riches of His generosity and mercy.
The reign of God is also his throwing into the abyss and His confounding of the reprobate who are unwilling to submit to His rule, and the throwing down of their accursed arrogance, so that it might be clearly demonstrated that no power can stand against His.
We pray, therefore, that God's reign may come. By this we are praying that the Lord will multiply each day the number of believers who celebrate His glory in all their works, and that He will pour the abundant supply of His graces more profusely upon them, in order to live and reign in them in ever greater measure, until, having perfectly untied them to Himself, He may fill them entirely.
We are also asking that God, by new and increased numbers, will so cause His light and truth to shine every day so that Satan, his lies, and the darkness of his reign, may be scattered and done away with.
When we pray in this way, 'May God's kingdom come, we are asking, finally, for this kingdom to be definitively brought to perfection and completed;
We are asking that there should come the disclosure of His judgment—the day when He alone will be exalted and will be all in all, after having gathered His own people and received them into glory, and having demolished and brought down the reign of Satan.

The Sovereignty of God is the stumbling block on which thousands fall and perish; and if we go contending with God about His sovereignty it will be our eternal ruin. It is absolutely necessary that we should submit to God as an absolute sovereign, and the sovereign of our souls; as one who may have mercy on whom He will have mercy and harden whom He will. ~ Jonathan Edwards
