Many of you may have been following the Gosnell trial and its grisly testimony.
I receive via e-mail a commentary on this and other things by a Reformed Christian named Denny Burk. You can read his latest concerning the Gosnell trial here.
One of the things I found concerning this trial is how hypocritical the press is concerning this case. Despite the fact that there are over 40 seats set out for the press, yet most of these seats are empty.
In the commentary concerning why the press is not present is the following.
Personally I find this appalling because a good news person gives unbiased news as it is unfolds. Anything else is not news, it is biased commentary. As this quote shows perhaps by their lack of coverage it speaks volumes as to their hypocrisy.
Their silence in my opinion is loud!
Looking at this matter as someone who is pro-life, if I was a member of the press and the shoes were on the other feet. Meaning that the person on trial could give the pro-life movement a black eye. Would I have the courage to report the unbiased news as it unfolded?
I suppose the very answer to that depended on if I was leaning on the Lord’s strength, rather than my own.
This in a way explains a lot of why we are seeing the lack of news coverage in the liberal press.

'Television journalism' is the oxymoron of the last century.

Yes the silence is defining.

I believe the near collapse of anything like a standard for instance journalistic standards reflects what began happening in the American church, just over 100 years ago, specifically the rise of Dispensationalism and the intellectual dishonesty required to maintain that system. JV McGee's famous line ;" You dont polish the brass on a sinking ship' is mirrored all too well in the silence that still echos even today. Did you know that Roe v Wade was fought and lost in Dallas County Tx? Home of Dallas Theological Seminary, the staff and faculty of which stood silent during that case?

McGee's pragmatism was false, as well as cynical. He twisted divine revelation to suit his (and DTS) agenda of a rapidly failing culture as prelude to rapture. He wanted the ship to sink. I dont see much difference between McGee and the media of 2013.

There must have been thousands of students over the years that bought in and we are harvesting what was planted. How many thought deep within;;; Dont loook too close , dont ask THAT question, Ignore the fallacies and critics of our systematic theology and all will be well. It no surprise how weak we are today.

For my money your complaints are fully valid, and right on the mark, just as I believe when we witness poor behavior in the world we should look around the house and check on what we are up to. We lead, whether we do well or not.
