This month's Article of the Month is one of the rare jewels that has come down to us by Stephen Charnock. In this article, Charnock shows us the importance of biblical doctrine AND its personal application to mankind, especially to believers. In theology, the Omnipresence of God has two fundamental parts: Transcendence and Eminence, i.e. transcendence is the uniqueness and separateness of God from all things created; God is "other". And, eminence is the closeness and personal interaction of God with His creation.

What is so marvelous of Charnock's writings is that he doesn't deal strictly with the academics of his subjects. He applies them to our everyday life. So in this sense he is not only an immanent biblical scholar and theologian but one who is gifted with a pastoral heart. It is my firm conviction that Stephen Charnock's masterful book, The Existence and Attributes of God is required reading. Doing so will take you to new heights, increasing your knowledge of God but opening your heart and love for the One who created you and redeemed you(Eph 1:9,10).
