Interesting that you think this is "news" or some new "light" that has come forth (assumed) when in fact, some of us who have made a choice to listen to CONSERVATIVE, non-Leftist, non-Socialist, non-Communist propaganda media have known about this for years. Rush Limbaugh, Carlson Tucker, Mark Levin, Shaun Hannity, et al. continually point out the "Oppressed vs. Suppressed" dogma of the Left on their respective venues. In fact, you can see this type of thinking prior to what the book the speaker referred to written in 1992 in a book written by B.F. Skinner; Waldon Two, 1948. His ideas about behavior modification are part and parcel of the deconstruction of current social structures. That the modern church has picked up on these ideas and joined with the world is actually and likewise nothing new:
Quote
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (ASV) "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds), casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;"
Colossians 2:8 (ASV) "Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:"
One last thing which I took issue with which the speaker said, it is a fallacy to reject only the ideas of these worldly and unbiblical ideas and not the groups/men who have embraced them and are promoting them, both outside and especially inside the Church. Again, I must remind you and everyone else, the overwhelming majority of heresies, both in doctrine and practice have been introduced into the Church by professors, teachers, pastors/elders and NOT by the laity. Those who espouse heresy are to be rejected and removed from the assemblies according to God's Word.
Pilgrim I never said that you or anyone else has never heard of these kind of things. Some have and some have not. I know a few people in that organization that I have been blessed by on the past. However, their involvement in that organization makes me very concerned about them. Much of what I heard them say in the past is the opposite of what this organization teaches.
In the future, I will resist the urge to post links like this. Tom
CRT is something I'm just learning about. First heard of it listening to a Dividing Line podcast. I have maybe 2 reformed friends, and they are only "superbabes" in RT due to my bringing it to their attention. I would say this is breaking news to those who are newly reformed or have lived in ignorance of the world like me This is, however, a topic I'd like to understand more thoroughly and learn how to dispute better and correctly from a reformed Christian perspective.
