I have a question related to Dispensationalism.
I understand many Dispensationalists believe that Temple sacrifice will one day be restored. Would you call this belief “heretical”? Temple sacrifice was a foreshadowing or the final sacrifice of Christ. Why would anyone want to go back?
I have been told that John MacArthur believes that the Temple Sacrifice will be restored. However, somehow I don’t think MacArthur would go that far.
Sounds extreme.

Yes, I would most definitely call this view heretical. You are 100% correct, that the OT sacrificial elements were shadows of the passive obedience of Christ whereby His crucifixion was the ultimate sacrifice which atoned for sin, He being the ransom securing redemption, the propitiation which appeases the wrath of God against the sins of the elect, a sacrifice which was given to nail the bond which the elect owed, and thus made reconciliation for those for whom the Father gave Him to save. The reinstitution of the OT sacrifices would be an infinite insult to God and Christ and a denial of the COMPLETE salvation which Christ secured for His own which God decreed from eternity. This also applies to the active obedience of Christ, whereby the perfect righteousness of Christ is imputed to those who are regenerated by the Spirit and consequently come to Him in repentance and true faith, which is foreshadowed when the priest laid his hands upon the scapegoat (cf. Leviticus 16:1-34).

Do you know if there is any truth to MacArthur believing that? I have my doubts.
