It seemed good to me and I pray to the Holy Spirit that the history of the true Christian Church be remembered given the date just passed and due to the corruption and downslide of the contemporary church throughout the world. Remembering one's 'roots' is often a motivation to taking stalk of where we are in comparison to our beginnings. Doubtless, the great Protestant Reformation offers that physic for an ailing church and a remembrance of its foundation grounded in the inspired Word of God. George Skariah has provided a brief summary of the marvelous truths upon which the Reformation stand and platform which helps define the true Church. And, surely with the movement to rid the world of religion but especially the Gospel of Salvation in Jesus Christ, being reminded of what believers of the past had to endure before the Reformation and the courage of those who brought about the Reformation provides a sense of strength and hope for those who are being persecuted as professing Christians today; both within and without the organized church. simul iustus et peccator
