Indeed it is the Word of Christ, the Word of God, the inspired, infallible, inerrant Book that we hold in our hands, that must be our sole authority and our infallible critic as we examine what God requires of us concerning this vital matter of spiritual separation.

If I could summarize the thrust of this month's Article of the Month I would phrase it as a question: Do you talk the talk or walk the walk? What the author focuses on is the divide between those who speak of being holy and those who strive to be holy. For the Lord Christ, being the essence of holiness the effulgence of the glory of God, is our example of what it is to be a Christian. And thus it is written,

Quote
13 Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance: 15 but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living; 16 because it is written, Ye shall be holy; for I am holy. 1Peter 1:13-16

The ultimate question we should be asking ourselves is: What manner of Christian am I? Am I like a Hollywood actor simply playing a part which I wish others to see? Or, am I what I profess to be before others and most importantly, is my heart's desire to be holy in my life?
