I have been constantly burdened by all the superficial "christianity" and false religiosity that is being voiced on myriad outlets; news, commercials, programs, movies, social media (which I avoid like the plague), where one's "faith" is expressed in success, overcoming depression, grief, hardship(s), daily pressure, challenges, sickness, etc., etc., ad nauseam. Of course, there is rarely a mention of the struggle of the ever-present sin of one's soul. But equally missing is the exclaiming of thanksgiving to the sovereign and abundantly merciful God from whom comes all things. Yes, ALL THINGS, are to be given thanks for, at least for those who have true saving faith, for not only is reconciliation with God given to them, but also through the redemption that is only found in the LORD Christ is the adoption as beloved sons/daughters who are destined to glory. ALL THINGS are meant for our sanctification and good. And, knowing that, are prayers to the Father should be Always, and For All Things. Spurgeon in his moving way of preaching brings out many marvelous things that should convince you and motivate us all to give thanks to God Always, and For All Things. smile
