What is the purpose of the Rating column? Is it relative new to the forums or have I been oblivious to it?

There is also a "User Rating" feature too, but I have disabled it for what I feel are good reasons. The "Rating" system is subjective; i.e., it how someone thinks/feels about a specific thread for whatever reason(s) they have. It may be that the topic being discussed is one which the user feels is important. It could be that the information contained in the thread is edifying, etc. The scale is from one to five; one being lowest and five being highest. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/bigcheese.gif)

Pilgrim,
Who does the rating?
How?
In addition, what is the purpose of the left-most column with the imploding tree? Does it indicate strife within the thread? And, again who sets it and how?

How? Who? All registered members are able to rate a thread. How? When reading any message, scroll to the very bottom of the page and see the "Extra Information" table. There are LOTS of things there including the Rating feature. Just choose the number of stars you want to give as a rating from the drop down menu and click the button. In addition, what is the purpose of the left-most column with the imploding tree? Does it indicate strife within the thread? And, again who sets it and how? Sorry, I haven't a clue what you are asking about. "Imploding tree"??? Got a screenshot you can insert in a reply? And this "left-most column", in what page are you referring to? e.g., the Main Index page where all the forums are displayed? A Forum page that displays all the threads? Within a thread (Threaded or Flat mode)? ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/biggrinking.gif)

Within a thread (Threaded or Flat mode)? From the main page, I clicked on a particular forum. It displays all the threads. The header has a blank in the 1st column. A 'Subject' in the 2nd column . . . The 1st column with the blank header has the imploding tree beside the Userpics thread the next one down, but not on this one Does that help

Check out the legend in the lower right corner of the main forum pages.

John, Gotribe pointed you to the right place; Category Page (Forum view where all the threads are displayed) and lower right-hand corner for the "Legend". Here is what you are looking for: Topic with over 15 replies or 50 viewsThe image is supposed to be fire! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/bigcheese.gif)
