Hi As you know there are people that claim to be Christians, who also believe in evolution. They do so, for a number of reasons. But a prominent reason is that they believe unless Christians give in to the current evolutionary views, they will end up being a laughing stock. Below is something that I believe is one of the simplest ways to combat this.
Is it possible God used evolution to create man?
The short answer to this is absolutely not! We see in Scripture that man was made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26), from the dust of the ground (Gen. 2:7). Many like to allegorize the creation of man, to make it conform to the current evolutionary theory. Yet this creates a huge problem. In the allegory model, being created from the dust of the ground must represent the thing man evolved from. In this case because of evolutionary theory man evolved from the apes. So what is the problem? In Gen. 2:7 we read that man was created from the dust of the ground and in Gen. 3:19 we read about part of the curse where God says that from out of the dust of the ground you were created; from out of the dust you will return. Did man become apes again after the fall? Of course not, but this is exactly what the allegory theory is saying. To be consistent with evolutionary theory they must be saying that dust represents apes. Most do not understand that this is what it would be saying. But those who do not believe the Bible at all believe that man evolved from apes, or something else. This is just the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to allegory and evolution. I actually believe that those who believe in evolution who do not believe in the Bible, are more consistent than evolutionists who claim to be Christians. At least they do not allegorize the Scriptures to conform to evolution. Thoughts?

There IS "evolution" within species but NOT across species. For example, some people have blue eyes and blond hair, while others have brown hair and brown eyes. The variations within the human race are explained by DNA which when God created man allowed all such variations to be possible. This is not to say that those variations within humankind are "accidental occurrences". God sovereignly and providentially brings to pass ALL THINGS according to His eternal perfect will. Evolution between species, e.g., man evolved from apes, or reptiles evolving from fish, or that all living matter evolved from some primordial slime, is impossible and clearly contradicts Scripture, which is the sole and final authority in all matters of faith (things that are to be believed) and practice. As to what the world thinks of my biblically established views... it is not my concern. Scripture clearly states that the world hates God and all that is true where God is the author and creator and sovereign ruler of all things. Modern science's presupposition is, "there is no god", therefore, everything MUST be explained by observation of the natural world, so-called.

I believe what you call "evolution within species" is called "micro evolution". This is a way different than what most people talk about when they use the term "evolution". They are talking about "macro evolution", not micro evolution. I was hoping to get some feedback on my OP, particularly concerning the Bible's use of the word "dust" and how we were created from it. How at death we will return to it. This is opposed strongly by the idea of us evolving from apes.

1. God CREATED man, both male and female from the dust of the ground. Man didn't "evolve" over billions of years from an inanimate substance. There is no possible twisting of Scripture to make it refer to evolution. 2. Man returns to the dust of the ground after death, for the body decomposes yet the skeleton remains for sometimes millennia after the body.
