500 Year Anniversary of the Reformation

Years ago, I think I saved an article that shows NT Scripture showing a young earth (i.e. 6/24 hr day view). Unfortunately, that was my last computer and I forgot to transfer many of my articles and links to this one.
I do not necessarily need the articles back, but I am looking to help someone understand the Scripture's teaching on this issue.
Also, I believe there are some essential doctrines that would be effected if OEC was correct.

I did a quick look on the site and found a few articles and discussions; but though I may have missed it. None of them spoke directly to the description I mentioned above.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Dr. Paul Elliott has a multi-part series on the Protestant Reformation available to the public online. The first part can be found here: The Calvin500 Celebration: Sincere Homage or Sad Hypocrisy?.

However aproppos the first two in the series are, and they certainly are very good, I found Part 3 is exceptionally relevant and descriptive of our current situation in regards to where the visible church is today. You can read that part here: What Is the Greatest Lesson of the Reformation?.

There are links to the previous and following articles in each of the series as you read through them which I heartily recommend. grin

Like many of Reformed persuasion, I actually look forward to the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.
I was on Facebook and looking at a Reformed group called ‘Table Talk’. The thread was called something to the effect of ‘Should we celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation?’ I noticed the vast majority of the posts were actually anti-Reformation in nature; saying that Luther, Calvin, and Zwingli were evil men. One in particular said that Martin Luther brought the evil of Gnosticism into the Church.
I was quite shocked that the administrators did not say anything and the only people who said anything contrary to what they were saying did not seem to be very knowledgeable.
I decided that I would at least try to find out a little bit about these accusations, before I said anything. Or rather if I say anything.
My search in Google concerning Gnosticism and Luther quickly came to a few Roman Catholic sources that were anti-Luther. After scanning them, I decided not to read them, seeing they are automatically prejudiced against Luther and the Reformation.
Searching further I again ran into many accusations that Luther was a Gnostic. One statement stuck out to me that I thought I would share here.
It said that you will not get a Protestant to admit Luther was a Gnostic and that Augustine was as well. It also went to say that all Protestants should be as well.
I went to Wikipedia and although it was helpful to show how Luther wrote against Antinominianism (which by the way some sources claimed Luther was an advocate of.) It really did not help me to find out about the claim that Luther was a Gnostic.
My search so far has lead to many hits from sites that claim that Martin Luther was a Gnostic. However, though I may have missed it, nothing from Protestant sites.
Is this a claim you have run into; because it is the first time I have run into it?

Sat Oct 07, 2017 4:42 AM Cultural Marxism=Multiculturalism? by Tom
Recently I was told about something called ‘cultural Marxism’ that I was told that in western culture it is better known as ‘multiculturalism’. As I searched a little further; what I found is that is supposedly about “white genocide”. Among the things it said: “Mass third world immigration= White Genocide”. Another article I was:
If there is one thing I do not want to do, is be guilty of bearing false witness, but some of this makes sense of what we are seeing in our society today.
There were a few things in one of the articles that bothered me, coming from one of those articles. It said it is wrong for someone to marry someone of another race. As I read that, it almost sounded like a KKK member was saying it.

Thu Oct 05, 2017 11:28 PM Any comparison between America and western Europe by John_C
when it comes to them becoming overtly secularized. I mean it happened in Europe in the early 1900s, and now it is happening in America in the last 10-15 years. What are some of the similarities in attitudes, outward advocacy, and general conflict with Christianity. And, what are the differences in those areas. It happened so long ago in Europe that it doesn't appear to be as acrimonious, just a slow, creeping ahead away from Christianity. I wonder if gay rights, racial conflicts, etc are what is making it appear to be so sudden and spiteful in America. Maybe there weren't any societal issues going on when Europe mostly turned away. It was strictly a turning away without any in-your-face advocacy we are witnessing.

Share your thoughts or cite resources that can help in the comparison.
