<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/yep.gif" alt="" /> It is in Canada again! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/igiveup.gif" alt="" />

Today, the Canadian Senate passed an "anti-spanking Bill". You can read the full gory details here: Anti-Spanking Bill Passes Canadian Senate.

Okay.... so all this "silliness" is in Canada. [Linked Image]

What do you suppose might happen if a Democrat gets into the White House with a majority in the House and Senate also Democrat? [Linked Image]

Thoughts? [Linked Image]

William, are you saying you are glad that the Canadian govt is now able to dictate how parents and teachers discipline children?
Talk about big government. We have seen in our own country what is happening to our children who have no limits.

No, I am saying that I am glad people named "Bill" will not be getting spanked.

It is a Joke. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bash.gif" alt="" />

There oughta be a law--against puns like that!

Back on topic, while one can never rejoice to see lawlessness increase, when I hear news like this I like to pray that the potential of an increase in real persecution of the Church will be used of our Sovereign Lord to purify His Church, that the lusting of much of the Church for the delights of this passing evil world will be crushed, that the proclamation of the Holy Gospel would increase in clarity and boldness, unto a more perfect exaltation of the name of the Lord Christ, until He returns for His redeemed bride. No government hinders Him; He is accomplishing all His holy will even through those who hate His name.

Quote
Isaiah 40 (ESV):

21 Do you not know? Do you not hear?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
23 who brings princes to nothing,
and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.

24Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown,
scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth,
when he blows on them, and they wither,
and the tempest carries them off like stubble.

What is most exciting is that we are living in astonishing times when the number of Christians in places as disparate as China, India, Africa and some Muslim areas is growing at a rate unimaginable only 30 years ago.

Quote
Savoy Declaration of Faith, Ch. XX:

3. The revelation of the gospel unto sinners, made in divers times, and by sundry parts, with the addition of promises and precepts for the obedience required therein, as to the nations and persons to whom it is granted, is merely of the sovereign will and good pleasure of God, not being annexed by virtue of any promise to the due improvement of men's natural abilities, by virtue of common light received without it, which none ever did make or can so do.

And therefore in all ages the preaching of the gospel hath been granted unto persons and nations, as to the extent or straitening of it, in great variety, according to the counsel of the will of God.

In Christ,
Paul S

On the analysis that the USA will go the way of Canada when the DEMs tke over next year, is probably valid. It is even valid under the GOP but it would be a much slower pace.

There are many who sees no difference between the DEMs and the GOP, and that may be true in some areas; but in other areas they are vastly different.

Did you see the article some place where a Canadian education system used a psychic in discovering alledge abuse.

Perhaps this quote, emailed to me today as my "Quote of the Day", fits in with what Paul_S wrote:

The Church is an organism that grows best in an alien society.

Pilgrim's post was meant to get serious responses and I think we would all like to keep it that way. I only joked because in a world where sin is abounding I was trying not to take things to seriously.

I hope I didn't hurt you with my hammer. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/compute.gif" alt="" />

Well, we best get used to it for as far as I can tell we almost certainly will have a Democrat in office next. If not an out-and-out Democrat, the best we can hope for appears to be a nominal Republican.

Unfortunately, the Republicans act like Democrats who walk slowly rather than sprint gaily toward destruction.

Kyle

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified.

Kyle:

I can remember back in my teens, more specifically when I was in junior high (this was after the rocks had cooled and plants had sprung up) where a friend of mine's mother referred to the two parties as Socialist Party A and Socialist Party B. At the time I had no interest in politics but it is interesting to see how that particular statement has become factual.
