A friend recently sent me information on a supposed 'Arch of Baal' that has been errected in Washington DC. I have been looking for information about it, but so far the information I am getting is by people such as Jonathan Cahn, who wrote the book 'The Harbinger'. Needless to say, I do not trust these sources.
Can anyone give some information I can trust?

I know up until now no one has contributed to my enquiry. However, I would like to add a new wrinkle to it; in the hope I get a few responses. The person who sent me this, is getting really upset with me, because I am trying to be discerning. He said the fact that I do not like the sources of these links, because they are from questionable individuals, shows that I do not trust him. I answered him saying that if these links were sent to me from my own pastor, I would still say the same thing to him. He told me that it should not matter if the person said those things was a heretic or not; they are saying the truth. I told him that I want reputable sources, not questionable sources before I repeat information. I said if the information is correct; I expect that I will find the same information with reputable sources. He has not provided any other sources, but expects me to just trust him that the information is correct. I have been searching places like Google and Reformed apologetics sites. But so far, although I have found sources on Google, they source the same person my friend linked me to. He is really offended at this; telling me that he is very frustrated at me. Saying: You always seem to attack the messenger instead of the message I send. I will always send things that I can back up. Even if you have problem with the messenger. I will even send articles from anti Christian people if the article is worth Christians need to read. It's the message not the messenger in most cases.” He told me he can back the information up; but he has not done so. He has threatened to not send me any more information, because it is a waste of his time. For your information, I have provided the link he sent me. http://www.investmentwatchblog.com/...e-brett-kavanaugh-testified-to-congress/The video in the link is by Jonathan Cahn; who wrote the book ‘The Harbinger’ he is also involved with John Hagee who wrote the book ‘Four Blood Moons’. My question here is, am I correct to want to make sure the sources are good before using the information. I think that is a no brainer and I also indicated to him that I am checking for other sources on the information. I am trying to be as diplomatic as I know how to be; reading what I write to him over and over again before I press 'SEND". Tom

What this man is purporting as 'truth' is nonsense (read: No Sense). There is nothing in Scripture that would support such nonsense, but contrariwise, Scripture condemns such things, i.e., false prophets. Yes, there are times when a heretic can utter truth, i.e., something which Scripture confirms. But if a person is mainly teaching unbiblical doctrine/life, one would have to deny God's instructions given to the apostle John: 1 John 4:1 (ASV) "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Pilgrim Thankyou, that confirms that I wasn't being unreasonable in my discussion with him. I have found sometimes it is good to make sure of these things, because we all have our blind spots.
Unfortunately sinse I made that enquiry, I had further dialogue with him. He did not take it very well; he even told me something very telling about himself. Basically saying that what I said to him is what is wrong with Christianity today and another reason why he would never belong to "organized Church".
Maybe that should not surprise me. Sigh...

Actually there are two arches of Baal. And they're golden. Furthermore there's a drive-thru window. They're all over Washington D.C.

Ha ha, that is funny! By the way, I have found that there is some truth to this. Although no other site talks about it in the same manner the link my friend said.
