I am hearing some rumblings in B.C. Canada that the government is trying to make more people comply with getting the Covid-19 Vaccine. This includes approaching businesses and making it mandatory to get the vaccine if you want to work.
Today, I was talking to a manager friend at work who was visibly upset. There are rumblings of this, because the ownership is considering these things.
My manager friend is an anti-vaxer who says he does not know what to do, because he is not at a point where he can afford to lose his job.

When it comes to the vaccine, I am a “wait and see” person. Who is not against vaccines, because I am old enough to remember things like Polio. However, like some of my friends, with everything else that is happening (Cultural Marxism), I have reason to suspect the government.

However, most people I know including Reformed Christians have bent the knee to the government already. I have a Reformed friend, who was in training in a Reformed Church to become an elder. However, because of their stand, which basically is against the stand that John MacArthur takes, he gave up his membership.

Kind of hard to know the best way to handle all this.

Isn't it marvelous how God uses these type of circumstances (which He has foreordained in eternity) to test and sanctify His sheep. I could have gotten the vaccine quite some time ago since I am a) in the upper risk category re: age, and b) being a disabled veteran they are readily available at the VA hospital. But, like you Tom, I am not anti-vaccine but I know that I would be better off contracting the virus and then being immune due to the natural process of the body to create the anti-bodies during the two or three days of illness. According to the "science", my personal health is excellent and there is virtually little to no possibility of my dying from the disease. The vast majority of Canadians and Americans will and have been scrambling to get vaccinated out of unnecessary fear promoted by the lies which the government has created and furthered by the more than cooperative leftist media. NO, I am NOT a conspiracy nut! drop There is much in common with the exaggerations and fabrications re: Covid19 and man-made global warming (aka: climate change).

Remember well the Spirit's words through the apostle Paul:

Quote
Ephesians 6:12-18 (ASV) 12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places]. 13 Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil [one]. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,...

2 Timothy 3:10-14 (ASV) 10 But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience, 11 persecutions, sufferings. What things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But abide thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.

Sacrifice is part of the true Christian life as is suffering. But to be sure "... we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are [the] called according to his purpose." Now is a time of testing and to some degree the revealing of the sheep and the goats as a precursor to the time just before the Lord returns to gather His own to Himself. scratchchin

I do know that Covid is very real. A friend of mine, who is 74 was on a ventilator for nearly a week and a half and they really did not know if he was going to survive. He is on the road to recovery, but is very weak.
That really is not my problem; I believe in protecting the elderly and the vulnerable. However, how the government is handling this situation, makes me believe it is all is part of the Left's agenda.

Yes, I believe that we wrestle not against flesh and blood and like you, I believe this is probably the time of testing...

I also hang onto verses like Roman 8:28. Yet sometimes when I see these kind of things; it is hard to know the direction I should go, if given the ultimatum of taking the vaccine to keep my job; or not taking it and losing my job. My friend the manager at work, was understandably upset at this and he seems to believe that he might be forced to take the vaccine. As for me, I can afford to retire if I am forced to; but definitely do not want to.

Just in case you misunderstood my view on this silly virus. Yes, of course it is "real". Yes, the elderly and those with specific current medical conditions, especially respiratory problems need special care and isolation and other preemptive precautions are surely required. However, those who are otherwise healthy, regardless of age, are of extremely low risk of dying by contracting the disease. My wife's 89 year old aunt had a mild heart attack and when brought to the hospital, the examination showed that she also had Covid19. Contrary to the propaganda "science" of Dr. Fauci and the drive-by media, she didn't die and is doing well. The vaccine is not absolutely necessary for the majority of individuals since the symptoms are typically flu-like and recovery is typically 2 to 3 days after which the antibodies resulting from having contracted the virus are notably stronger and it is believed will last 2 to 3 years vs. the vaccine immunity which is guessed will last 6 months to 1 year.

Secondly, the government has no right to mandate people take the virus under penalty of law. We the people have the sovereign right over our bodies as mandated by God and that life is sacred due to the fact that all are created in the image of God. This means that one cannot deliberately harm one's own body or anyone else's body. One must care for this temporary housing for the soul. And the way in which one does that is the individual's choice. In this particular situation, if one wants to take the vaccine, then fine. And if one does not want to take the vaccine for whatever reason, then fine. NO MAN can control life nor the circumstances of life absolutely for it is God who is sovereign and ordains all things. We are responsible to live circumspectly and follow what God has revealed and provided according to our own conscience.

Let the godless politicians demand what they wish. But if if those demands require that you do what God forbids, then you MUST refuse. Likewise, if the wicked forbid that you do what God requires, then again you MUST refuse to obey the government. It's the same old answer for every situation because truth doesn't change with the situation or the times. Following Christ is not what the modern 'church' is teaching. God's Word says, "all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus WILL SUFFER PERSECUTION."... therefore, count the cost. The remnant will be saved and the rest who are false professors will be carried away by every wind of doctrine and bow down to the leaders of this world and follow its philosophies. (cf. Jh 8:60-69)

That was very helpful and I agree.

Today I learned that in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland every single ventilator is being used and the younger patients are taking priority. They say Covid patients as young as 30, are on ventilators.
Apparently, they are saying that elderly people with prior conditions such as COPD because of the current shortage of ventilators are not even candidates to use a ventilator should they require one.
