This really does not surprise me, concerning what can happen if you or an organization disagrees with the political left. However if they get their way, the sky is the limit to their depravity.

Banks in the US have been discriminating against conservatives from the reign of Obama and before. In fact, the Biden regime has suggested that banks do more to alienate and refuse service to conservatives, especially firearm related businesses and organizations. It's all part of the "Cancel Culture" plan which is determined to silence anyone who disagrees with the Left's foundational agenda; following the Marxist play book. Such antics are not anything new when you look at the world's governments and not just Canada or the US. This has been the modus operandi with all tyrannical run governments. One of the newer examples is Australia that elected one wicked, evil President who has eradicated all but a smidgen of democracy there.

While I think we agree in concept, I chafe at the use of the term "democracy" as though it were something good. That is in my opinion a KEY part of the Marxist playbook, and an important tool they use to convince otherwise decent people to do incredible evil, by electing incredibly evil people.

Democracy should never be confused with self-government under the overarching and openly acknowledged rule of God. The two are actually mutually exclusive.

Generally, it devolves quickly into rule by those who can most easily manipulate the masses. In a post-Christian society, that will generally be the least Godly people.

It also inherently promotes the concept of people voting themselves goodies at the expense of others. Thus, institutionalized envy and coveting, which often also leads to institutionalized robbery, enslavement, and murder.

Both of these facts were known in antiquity, and widely referenced in the two works referenced below.

I highly recommend the Anti-Federalist Papers. Most people are more familiar with the Federalist Papers, which are good also, but, in the end, the Anti-Federalists' concerns proved entirely justified, and the Federalists' assurances proved entirely incorrect. As John Adams famously predicted, the Constitution, though likely the greatest document of its kind (and a great improvement over what we have now), ultimately failed to restrain the immoral and irreligious people that our nation has largely become.

Hmmm, now that sounds alot like Postmillenialism? scratchchin First off, the U.S. was founded as a Republic, not a Democracy. Secondly, ALL governments are under the rule of God although they have no use for any "god". There is no longer a Theocracy and it was never intended on this earth that there should be an established Theocracy, in opposition to what Theonomic Reconstructionists believe. It's on the New Earth which is what Scripture wants all believers to look forward to and what prophecy has foretold. Even the disciples were under the false hope and teaching that God was going to establish an earthly kingdom at the arrival of the Messiah. But they soon were taught by Christ that this was not the case whatsoever, that the kingdom here was "within them" (Lk 17:21).

Thanks for the recommendation. I would just like to point out, though, that the purpose of the Constitution was clearly laid out in the preamble. And the purpose was not to restrain immorality. No government can do that without turning into sharia. Would be interested in your thoughts on the ancient Israelites, who had their government handed to them by God Himself. Did the 10 commandments and God's laws stop the Israelites from sinking into apostasy, lawlessness, moral degeneracy, and even child sacrifice? Seems to me that the Israelites broke through the 10 commandments as "a whale through a net," doesn't it? Interested on your thoughts on this ....

I don't know who you are addressing?? rolleyes2

However...
Personally, I see a muti-faceted purpose in God creating Theocratic Israel. Just a few of them are:
1. To reveal the sinfulness of sin and even increase sin so that fallen man must rely upon God alone for redemption.
2. To demonstrate that peace, blessedness, joy, etc. are impossible this side of the eschaton where God will "burn off" the visible earth and create the "New Earth".
3. To demonstrate that the visible Church, of which Israel was the forerunner, was not intended to be permanent nor pure.
4. Salvation comes only through the perfect keeping of the law OR by grace through faith in the incarnate Son of God who would accomplish which no man could, nor can nor ever will.
5. To reveal the coming Messiah according to God's perfect sovereign counsel and providence.

The plot thickens.

As you probably know in the last year or so, about 5 pastors that I am aware of have been arrested for opening their Churches during Covid mandates.
Another pastor was arrested again, for following his convictions. This time apparently for “breach of conditions”, that an Alberta judge gave him, that he supposedly needs to say everytime he preaches.
He was supposed to say that something the judge wrote up to say; which was completely against his rights. He had gone to court and successfully was able to get that struck off the of any conditions. Yet they police still acted on new charges.
January 1st 2022, he was again pulled over on the highway and hauled over again for breach of conditions. They would not however reveal what those conditions are.

I personally do not agree with how this pastor deals with the police, calling them things like Gestapo. However, although I know we should be willing to face whatever happens to us, should we stand up for our biblical convictions. I think he just adds to police aggression by calling them Gestapo.

What is clear, is that what the police are doing in cases like this is illegal and against the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
About two weeks ago, a Rebel News reporter was physically assaulted on camera by about 4 of Trudeau’s body guards. Now the plot thickens; with this arrest.

Aside from the fact that this pastor is just a wee bit (sarcasm here) flamboyant which may have the opposite effect intended, his description of the RCMP officers who chose to obey orders from their superiors which may be illegal, is more correct than questionable. Obviously, the government is flexing its muscles which the sycophant judges are more than willing to collaborate as are the police to force people to bow down to arbitrary edicts or else suffer the wrath of "Khan", aka: Justin Trudeau. Things change quickly, eh? It wasn't but 20 years? ago that Alberta under Premier Ralph Kline, refused to follow the government's order(s) concerning abortions. Consequently, the gov't held back healthcare funding, which consists of 70%+ of tax dollars. Alberta held fast for awhile but eventually gave in and became good little servants of the "Most High Prime Minister" and his reign of oppression. Now, Alberta appears to be more than willing to go along with whatever Despot Trudeau wants. Australia, however, is leading the way in this matter of Communist 'leaders' in the western world. There's thin ice here too in the U.S. with a senile baffoon; Joe the liar Biden as President. And as I have written here many times before, the difference here is that we have a Constitution which limits government overreach and power and gives sanction to its citizens to do WHATEVER is necessary to protect the freedoms guaranteed even it means to use force if necessary to overthrow a tyrannical government. Fortunately, IF it ever comes to that, we have the means to do that and many are more than willing to fight to secure the freedoms we enjoy and have fought for since its founding. Whether Canada could ever be "saved" is more than doubtful since its citizens have overwhelmingly chosen Marxist-Socialism as its form of government. Likewise, the decision as to WHEN we here in the U.S. will stand firm and fight the tyranny in government is the question. Hard times are coming and we all need to be praying but also ready to decide what path we will follow according to our conscience, biblical teaching and our respective country's founding documents.

My point concerning this pastor, is the way he speaks to the police, although accurate never the less can only help to inflame the situation.
There are a few other pastors, that took the same stand as him and were arrested. However, they were as respectful as they could, without compromising what they believed.

How should a Christian police officer who was at the arrest of this particular pastor, respond seeing his superiors acting in a way they disagree with?

I do know that in the city of Toronto, more than 200 police officers were suspended without pay because they refused to be vaccinated. This comes at a time when more police are needed, not less. The same can be said about nurses, who are experiencing a huge nursing shortage.

Just to let you know, Canada has 'The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms', which is actually is similar on that subject as the American Constitution.
Some in Canada have actually won small victories by using that it in their court cases. Yet, it seems to depend on the judge as to the verdict.

Many do not even seem to understand that they have indeed chosen a "Marxist-Socialist" form of government. Even some that hate Marxism; do not see that these vaccine mandates etc... are related to Marxism.
Others, who hate Marxism never the less believe that under the circumstances, seeing they believe doctors who are in the government pocket concerning Covid-19. Believe that anyone who would believe otherwise, believe "misinformation".

If anyone is interested about the arrest of pastor and the charges against them. I am providing a video that gives more information on it as it is unfolding.
My understanding is that he was arrested for breach of conditions. However, from my understanding this pastor had these very conditions overturned previously. So it would seem that they are just grasping at straws and getting away with it.

When someone in the military (U.S.) or LEO (law enforcement officer) is given an order which is illegal, they have the LEGAL right to refuse to obey that order. Yes, there will be temporary or even permanent consequences, e.g., losing one's job, pension, etc. But only those who hold to CONVICTIONS vs. opinions make those type of decisions. All others obey such orders and then in a dark secluded room complain how bad things are. I haven't found any information concerning Canada's military, RCMP or local law enforcement personnel refusing to 'take the jab' which resulted in their dismissal or some other punitive action. Here in the U.S. thousands of men and women in the military, thousands of police officers, doctors, nurses, public employees and even employees of private companies have either walked off the job or have lost their jobs because they have refused to submit to the tyrannical and unethical mandate by this gov't to take the COVID vaccine. They are, of course, a small minority who have CONVICTIONS vs. those who willingly drink the political "kool-aid" and the bold-face lies of King Fauci about this disease and of course the selective false and distorted news media which they are addicted to. But, a little 'factoid' for you Tom and others who are concerned about how things are going in their respective places... The American Revolution was won by the efforts of only 3% of the population. And, among those were most of the men who would become the founding fathers who lost everything and some their own lives. Lastly, do I think via my infant wisdom vs. God's infinite wisdom, that the U.S. or Canada or Australia, et al which began as free societies are salvable considering the current state of affairs? No, unfortunately without a direct intervention of God, these free societies will perish. Do I think that the freedoms once held dear and a place where peoples from across the globe yearned to flee to is worth fighting for, risking all if necessary? YES! Being part of a c. 3% minority would be an honor to serve with. BigThumbUp

ManassehAmerican, I understood that was meant for me, but I'd have responded much as Pilgrim already did: that there are various purposes to God's Law that include both restraining sin, but, more importantly, as a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ.

I do not fully understand all the nuances between the different types of Law (ceremonial/religious/priestly/civil/etc.) but I do know that there is only One true Judge, Lawgiver, and King, and that man's feeble attempts to judge and legislate and rule in ways contrary to His Word will not end well.

If it is the will of God (and therefore not contrary to any part of His Word), I would be honored to among those who would fight in whatever Lawful and biblical way I can, to restore something more closely resembling rule of Law rather than rule of tyrants, thugs, criminals, and other haters of God.
