One of the most notable and endeared preachers of the 20th century, Martyn Lloyd-Jones is the author of this month's article. It is actually an address delivered at the Puritan and Westminster Conference of 1976. His topic, as the title clearly states, is on the matter of revival as viewed by an even more notable preacher and theologian of the past, Jonathan Edwards. True biblical revival is not what has been popular throughout the world for too long and seen as a theatrical performance designed by man too often. And no less important than revival which the visible church is in dire need today is its precursor; Reformation, a returning to true biblical doctrine through which the Spirit of God works. I do hope many will not only be informed about the nature of true revival but also be moved from Lloyd-Jones' personal insights into the mind and heart of Edwards as a believer and pastor. Great stuff!
