A couple of things come to mind, as I think about your response.
The first is just for clarification.
The solution starts with a T but it’s not Theonomy…. It’s Transparency. Shine a light - expose darkness (in ourselves & outside of us) and promote The Light.
As far as I remember from the podcast, it was not supporting "Theonomy", at least the way Rushdoony and Bahnsen would. So I am not sure what you are getting at here.
Don’t count on Jordan Peterson or Rebel News. Don’t rely on them. It just makes us complacent. The battle is ours to fight/combat/endure and we cannot do it alone. We press on….
It appears you are against Rebel News and Jordan Peterson. I am definitely not for relying on them; however I do appreciate their stands against the government agenda. If anything, Rebel News, Peterson and other sources like them, do not want people to rely on them. Rather, I believe they want to inform people what is happening and move people to action.
I live in Canada, and it is getting harder and harder, to get reliable news, that is not from the bias left. Rebel News, however is among the only news sources that report the news properly. For example, they reported on the Canadian pastors who were arrested for not closing their Churches during Covid lockdowns. Other news agencies if they reported on them at all, made them sound like criminals. By the way, two Alberta Baptists pastors who went to jail; we recently found not guilty in court.
Bill C-11, became law in Canada. This is a censorship bill, that threatens what Canadians can and cannot access. For example, one thing it is threatening is Podcasts such as 'The Sword & The Trowel Podcast'. Canadians may lose the ability to access it and other sources like it.
The sad reality is, many Calvinist and Reformed Churches, complied with these lockdowns and actually vilified Churches that did not.
A friend of mine, who is an elder and other elder actually left their Church over the issue and started a Church with just 4 families. That Church now has grown to about 60 people, in the past few years.
It started when he and a few others disagreed with the main pastor and another elder. At first they complied with them, but when they became convicted they started to say why during elders meeting and as a result they were put on Church discipline. That is when they decided to leave and start their own Church plant.
Podcasts like the Sword & the Trowel, want to help Christians think biblically and know how they can actually take action on that biblical knowledge.
For example, one of my favourite guests on the Sword & Trowel Podcast, is Voddie Baucham. He has been a great help to me not only on the Podcast, but a few books he has written.
One is on Presuppositional Apologetics called: 'Expository Apologetics: Answering Objections with the Power of the Word''. Which as the title suggests, is doing apologetics from Scripture.
The second is called 'Fault Lines: The Social Justice Movement and Evangelicalism's Looming Catastrophe', which deals with what is happening in our nations, and how many Churches are compromising the truth of Scripture on the issue. Organizations such as 'The Gospel Coalition' are actually saying that CT (Critical Theory) can be used as a tool along with Scripture, to help in race relations etc...
When the facts is CT, is based on Neo-Marxism, which is a world view that is against Capitalism and Christianity.
