First of all "Welcome to the Highway!" <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/hello.gif" alt="" />

I hope you enjoy your visit and find encouragement, support, and good sound Reformed biblical teaching.

While I'm not familiar with western Maryland I can recommend a couple of Reformed denominations that have churches in your state. Whether they are located near your home or not I can't promise. However, if you will look through the directories I provided below you may find what you are looking for.

Presbyterian Church of America Directory

Blessings!

Thanks for the welcome !

The only church close is a PCA that is in a mess !! We have friends in the church and it is ashame of the issues that go on there that the leadership will not solve.

It's unfortunate that there is so much turmoil and confessional doctrinal abandonment among reformed churches in our present day. Finding a sound church of any kind is something many of us have found to be a difficult task.

James, who generally responds to church location queries in this forum should be along to hopefully offer other options for you.

What I have found is that one can no longer depend upon all churches within a denomination being sound. One must make the effort to visit each individual congregation and ask questions to evaluate its soundness.

May the Lord provide for your needs in your search for a church home.

Thank you for your advice. Right now we are holdong worship in our home while we search out a church home. The area we live is a very liberal area, making it hard to find a sound church.

Since Western Maryland is a rather subjective area, would I be looking in the right place if I gave you information about Garrett and Aleegany counties?

In Christ,

James.

There are two PCA churches in Washington county

131 Pennsylvania Avenue

Grace Reformed Fellowship 15251 Falling Waters Rd Williamsport MD 301-797-6784 Potomac Rev. Garry L. Knaebel

In Frederick County I found an OPC church in Frederick

I also found a couple of Reformed baptist churches in Walkersville. Let me know if you want details of these. I didn't extend the search into WV or PA since they seem less populated than the Hagerstown area. Let me know if you would like me to do so.

Let us know how you get on.

Yours in Christ,

James.

wow...that PCA in Hagarstown was trouble 10 yrs ago when we lived in Frederick.

We went to PCA's Faith Reformed Presby in Frederick...cut our teeth on reformed teaching there for two yrs in mid-90's.

The OPC in Frederick cited above was also regarded as solid as well.
