Northwest Theological Seminary

On September 15, 2000, Northwest Theological Seminary was formally organized at the Lynnwood Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Lynnwood, Washington. The Board of Directors adopted the following theological distinctives:

    (1) Biblical theology in the tradition of Geerhardus Vos;
    (2) Presuppositional apologetics in the tradition of Cornelius Van Til;
    (3) Classic Reformed orthodoxy in the spirit of Old School Presbyterianism.

Four faculty members were appointed: James T. Dennison, Jr. (Professor of Church History); Robert A. Starke (Professor of Old and New Testament); Lane G. Tipton (Professor of Apologetics and Systematic Theology); J. Peter Vosteen (Professor of Homiletics and Practical Theology).

Northwest Seminary will offer the M.Div. and M.A.R. degrees. The primary purpose of Northwest will be the training of men for the gospel ministry. Persons wishing to study the Scriptures and historic Reformed theology, but who do not feel called to the ministry, are welcome in the M.A.R. program. Classes are scheduled to begin September 4, 2001 at the Lynnwood Orthodox Presbyterian Church. A catalogue of courses, application blanks and a schedule of fees is available on the Northwest Theological Seminary website at: http://www.nwts.edu/.
