Hello everyone,

I was reading a political thread in this forum and got to thinking. As most know or as a lot claim, the Southern Baptist Convention is primarily Republican. I believe they allign themselves with the Republican party because of the conservative title. I know its not just a title because I agree with the party on a lot of things such as denying abortion and denying same-sex marriages. However, when it comes to deciding on the President of the United States, do we choose based on morals alone? A Democratic ticket might be liberal or always is liberal but in a certain case if they can do a better job shouldn't we give them our vote?

Maybe I could ask the question this way. Are we trusting in the party we vote for to "secure" a good moral society more than we should? Not that a party could ever secure a good society but I think this gets the jist of my idea.
