The media coverage has been fairly sickening. I wonder who the next one will be...

What I found most sickening was the talk of "Our Lady" Mary, how she'll be "at the gates" to receive him, how he in his life so imitated her, etc., etc., ad nauseam. The praise he has received from all corners reminded me of Christ's words in Luke 6:22–26:

Quote
Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets. But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full. Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.

His death is a sad thing, and a greater tragedy still is the deception which he was under and under which he has led so many to their eternal doom. Truly a case of the "blind leading the blind." <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/sigh.gif" alt="" />

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified.
