IMO it is more than just an association with Dr. R. J. Rushdoony and Dr. Greg Bahnsen that "these rumors" exist. While I do like Whitefield and I am sure Dr. Talbot is speaking what Whitefield aspires to be recognized as, Dr. Gentry has definite beliefs in favor of "theonomy." KennethGentry.com states,

Quote
Kenneth Gentry offers "serious studies for serious Christians" in postmillennialism, preterism, theonomic ethics, six-day creation, presuppositional apologetics, predestination, reformed theology, lordship salvation, infant baptism, Presbyterianism, the Christian worldview, Christian education, the Christian and alcoholic beverages, and more. We have produced in-depth materials critiquing and rebutting dispensationalism, hyperpreterism, the framework hypothesis, paedocommunion, exclusive psalmody, charismatic phenomena, annihilationism, and other popular views.
Gentry has writtten books, Covenantal Theonomy, Theonomy & Confession, etc in regards to theonomy and is fairly well known in this area. Gentry though "on-staff" with Whitefield has beliefs that appear not to be in agreement with Talbot's statement.

codeman what you are witnessing here is that there is no such thing as a perfect seminary (including my favorite RTS--you can e-mail me on this...). No matter where you study there will be issues. However, it is good to know about them before attending ..... thus, be more biblically prepared and "ready to give an answer." So please do not take what I have written above as an indictment against Whitefield--as I would attend there, however, I know what I am getting myself into as well... which one should know concerning any seminary, or church, for that matter ...
