This is a Reformed site. It exists to accurately convey and promote the teachings of the Reformation. Posts which run counter to that purpose (other than honest questions, thoughtful objections to Reformed doctrine offered with teachableness) should be routinely deleted.

Jim M seemed to honestly think Albert Barnes was reformed. I have Barnes' commentary, know the problems therein, but wouldn't it be wise to have PUBLIC comments on Barnes rather than private? There could be passers-by to the Highway that would assume any legitimate conversation about a good, albeit fringe, commentator like Barnes are forbidden here.

Although the Highway is designed to discuss Reformation Theology, I do not think it is the intention that this is a closed 'members-only' forum in which you have to pass a Reformation initiation to determine if one is Reformed enough to post here. Barnes has his problems, but many orthodox theologians use his works and quote from them extensively. He isn't Bishop Spong. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
