I believe the Puritans had a love for God we sadly lack today. We view them as legalistic, but I believe that their lives just portrayed who they were, no legalism involved, at least to the "true" puritans. They did what they did because of their unwavering love for God. I am amused about the debate over the Sabbath and keeping the Lord's day, when as I said in a previous post it just shows a lack of love to even question it, we should want to be with God's people all the time.

Acts 2:46-27
46 And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,47 praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
