There are two things here:
1. The proclamation of the TRUE Gospel so that TRUE faith is in the TRUE Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and reconciliation with the TRUE God.
2. A CREDIBLE profession of faith is made by the person desiring to be a member of the chosen assembly/church. Most churches define "credible" as that which is not according to Scriptural teaching which is grounded on the fruit of the sovereign work of regeneration by the Spirit, and the fruit of that regeneration with at least a rudimentary knowledge of the faith.
