JoshT,
Are you perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect? What hope can you have? Are you sanctifying yourself? Is not the Holy Spirit that Sanctifies (1st Peter 1)? I am worried for you. The imperative of Hebrews 10 is for the Hebrews to remember the faith that Christ gave them when they were first saved. They were saved by that faith and it is God's glorious promise to work it out in them (Ps 89:24-38) and the Psalmist finishes the Psalm remembering God's faithfulness. How can you be assured that you are not toiling in vain if the unchanging God conditionally saves you (a blasphemous oxymoron) to leave you to work and work and work your sin off? You seem to mix your theology with your own pride in your self-righteousness. Aren't your good works worked out before hand by God (Eph 2)? I am nothing apart from Christ my own sin as a believer shows me that. If it had been up to me to strive and strive and strive after I was saved then I wouldn't be writing this now. Brother God is sovereignly doing the work of grace in your life that you are apparently boasting in with your belief that you are the sole means of your own sanctification. Please be careful you're brushing pride like BBQ sauce all over yourself for the roaring lion. God bless
Soli Deo Gloria
Aaron
