Same here. You have made your views very clear and I assure you that I will continue to think about what you have said. Also, if you know of a "classical" treatment of this subject that you would recommend I would very much like to read it. It just takes me a long, long time to make up my mind about things like this because I'm very slow and need lots and lots of examples and illustrations and argument. But thank you again for the exchange and for sharpening my iron.

I'm going to evoke "Administrative privilege", aka: cheat! . I'm going to deviate a bit from the topic at hand, but I assure you with the best of intentions in the hope to point out how our emotions sometimes (often?) rule our minds on specific "touchy" subjects.

The subject is the attitude of those who have lost loved ones on this earth in comparison to the saints in glory in regard to the judgment of those who are condemned to eternal punishment. Let me first make it very, very clear that I am NOT even hinting that we who are yet alive are not entitled to grieve at the loss of others who are outside of Christ. The point I hope to bring to the forefront is the difference in perspective between how God views things through the eyes of His saints in glory and those of whom are yet living.

No doubt, Jonathan Edwards' sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" is one of the most assailed sermons ever preached by a man, other than a few teachings uttered by our Lord Christ, Who wasn't a "Casper Milquetoast" as the moderns love to paint Him. But there is another sermon preached by Edwards which is far more unpalatable albeit hardly mentioned. And, this is what I would desire you to read. If you have already read this odious sermon (I personally think it is one of his very best since it is 'awfully true'.), perhaps you would take the time to read it once more? The title is typically one of those mini-tomes as was the custom during those days of yore:

About three years ago, we had a massive rain storm, and our bedroom became a swimming pool. With a couple of buckets and my trousers rolled up I set about the task of first moving everything out of the room, and then filling the buckets. It was boring and tedious work, and I laboured for the first few minutes and then suddenly decided to put the first sermon you referred to by Jonathan Edwards. (Sinner in the hands of and angry God.)

Along with 'ETERNAL PUNISHMENT' by A.W. Pink this sermon by Jonathan Edwards completely stunned me. His sheer command of Scripture and his abundant use of the Old Testament got me through my flood clearing.

I studied A.W. Pink's 'Eternal Punishment' in a completely different place. A jazz club where I was providing the equipment. I got the big table and had a visit from the mistress of the house, who smiled politely and did not return to ask what I was doing a second time. How does one say to a cheerful faced villian that you are reading all about 'Eternal Punishment'

I have not read the article you mention, but the general topic is not new to me and something that has consumed more than five years of research. I have in my possession the leaky faucet of Emmanuel Swedenborg's 'Heaven and Hell' and he does cover the topic of infants for a few pages, but nothing about unborn infants. ( Little Children in Heaven 329 - 345) < perhaps you may find something ?
