If you have not seen these videos on "Don't Waste Your Retirement" by John Piper, they are really inspiring, no matter how old you may be. Whether you are 26 or 66, Piper has something to say to you, I think, since what he says even applies to life BEFORE retirement.

Theo,

Thanks for posting that video message from John Piper. I agree with you that the message does not only apply to those entering retirement but the challenge to live fruitful Christ centered lives every day.

Here in America we live in the midst of a culture obsessed with self fulfillment and pleasure. Not only can these things draw us away from our Lord if we let them but will make us unfruitful in our service to Him. I think the parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:22 describes this condition very well. "As for what was sowed among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful."

May the Lord fill us with a desire to serve Him faithfully all the days of our life and not to be distracted or become complacent.

Wes
