Are some men apart from being regenerated in the womb born sodomites?
*With either view it is a sin that needs to be repented of.

If some day they find a "gay gene" and can prove that some people are born that way, it wouldn't force orthodox Christians to change or amend any doctrine. We are all born sinners and deserving of God's eternal wrath.

Though included along with idolaters, fornicators, murderers, and theives among those who "will not inherit the kingdom of God (1st Corinthians 6:9)," it is also clear from that passage of Scripture that God forgives and washes away the stains from even homosexual sin:

Quote
Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God (1st Corinthians 6:11).

Hi,
The "either/or" limitation of this poll I found to be unhelpful. Why not "both /and" - which would seem to be the case.
I was, for several years, involved in a ministry specialising in healing homosexuals and (sexual) abuse victims.

The fact is that sodomy is a sinful action. But the weakness /tendency that means people are lured into the lifestyle is OFTEN, not always, a result of brokenness passed down the family line from the sins of the forefathers. This is not to say it is Genetic - there is no evidence scientifically that homosexuality is genetic. the study that seemed to indicate that has long been debunked, even though it is still regularly quoted.
Of course the gay community would love it to be genetic - then it could be claimed to be "normal".
But it is related, at times, to the brokenness from the sins of the forefathers so that it can APPEAR to be genetic. (After all if you are a materialist and believe that the only thing passed on from parent to child is physical things, i.e. genetic, then any such thing will automatically be called genetic.
But if you recognise that there is also a spiritual nature to people and that there is also a "spiritual inheritance" that is passed on through the generations then there are other ways of perceiving how the connections are made. In such a case sodomy/ Homosexuality would not be "normal" but a result of the brokenness resulting from sin. After all, as Christians, we have to define "Normal" as being "according to the image of God", and we recognise that because of sin we are all "broken images", no longer refelcting the image properly, and so we are all "not normal" - at least this is the case this side of heaven.

So to all of you other "cracked pots", have a lovely day - as best as you can have in this fallen world.

John B.
