VII. When will the resurrection take place?

The resurrection will take place at the end of the world, in the last day, according as it is said, “I will raise him up at the last day.” “I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” (John 6:44; 11, 24.) But when the last day will arrive no one knows, but God alone. The chief benefit of this question is to restrain us from imagining to ourselves any time, when the resurrection will take place, that so we may not disturb our faith.
