9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Jesus takes pains to single out the ' peacemakers' . Obviously there is some general application that applies throughout history, but who or what group was this directed to initially? Is it those who joined and echoed his call for repentance? Is there a real connection between the modern 'peace churches' and this verse?
