I have yet to watch the Bill Nye vs. Ken Ham debate; but I have read a few articles written about it.
Basically what those articles said was neither side really won the debate; however what seemed clear was that the debate wasn’t really about Evolutionism vs. Creationism, it was about conflicting world views.
One silly comment that Bill Nye said was that no true scientist can hold to the Creationist position.; Ken Ham then proved him wrong by talking about a scientist who holds to creationism, who is famous for an important discovery. Apparently Bill Nye didn’t respond to that.
I heard a few repercussions of the debate where several prominent supposed Christians, such as Pat Roberson were embarrassed, because he believes the Young Earth position is silly, mainly because it came from Bishop Ussher, not the Bible. Pat Robertson says Ken Ham needs to be quiet.
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/02/...ut-up-lets-not-make-a-joke-of-ourselves/The only other thing I heard of significance was that Ken Ham used Scripture a lot as his primary source and wasn’t shy about his presuppositional apologetics. The Gospel was also prominently proclaimed.
Anyone watch the debate?
