They are awesome, and the former lead singer, Derek Webb, is Reformed! Of course, I am just getting into their music because they came out with their first two albums in my Arminian days ! I'm glad those days weren't long (Gives new meaning to Mark 13:20- "If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them."

Anyway, there was this song called "Thankful," which is so rich in Biblical doctrine, but I didn't want to hear it because I was, after, all, an Arminian, and it was ME who chose Christ, and what was this talk about "no one righteous."

Well I have REPENTED of that, and it was GOD who produced this repentence in me, by the way. So here are the words of the wonderful song "Thankful":

I ran across an old box of letters
While I was baggin up some clothes for Goodwill
You know I had to laugh that the same old struggles
That plagued me then are plaguing me still
I know the road is long from ground to glory
But a boy can hope he's getting some place
But you see, I'm running from the very clothes I'm wearing
And dressed like this I'm fit for the chase

No, there is none righteous
Not one who understands
There is none who seek God
No not one, no not one

I am thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
'Cause we're all stillborn and dead in our transgressions
We're shackled up to the sin we hold so dear
So what part can I play in the work of redemption
I can't refuse, I cannot add a thing

'Cause I am just like Lazarus and I can hear Your voice
I stand and rub my eyes and walk to You
Because I have no choice

I am thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
I'm so thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own

It's by grace I have been saved
Through faith it's not my own
It is the gift of God and not by works
Lest anyone should boast

Copyright Caedmon's Call 1999

Soli Deo Gloria!
Marie

Caedmon's Call is probably my favorite Christian band. I would have to say "Prove Me Wrong" is my favorite also. Another great song is "The Emptiest Day" from their new album Back Home.

I saw them live in Phoenix, Arizona in 2001. It was at a show supporting a Teen Challenge Drug Rehab shelter. They were a breath of fresh air. I really dug their Worship Album that they were promoting. Some of the most God centered original and covered worship albums I have read. I just bought Third Day's new worship album it is awesome.

Friends of mine are the new Sonic Flood and if I am not mistaken Derek Webb wrote a song taken from the Gadsby Hymnal call "She must and Shall Go Free" of course speaking of the church.
