Just curious, brother, before I reply, let me ask this: Why put a time restriction on it at all? Explaining that might affect the answers.<br><br>

Rod,<br><br>The reason for the time restriction is because I don't want someone to be able to change a post, let's say 3 days after it was written, to remove something written that lot's of people have responded to, because of what was initially written. <br><br>The whole purpose of allowing users to edit their messages is one of convenience and compassion... knowing that sometimes there was a poorly phrased sentence, missed spelling errors, typos, etc. that most people would like to be able to change within a short period of time after the message has been posted. Pilgrim,<br><br>I suspected as much. I do know that often I realized I said something on the old board that didn't come out right and the time to edit was so short that, "after incubation", I couldn't go back and alter it. Why not leave the six hour limit for now and see if it causes abuses?<br><br>

In other forum i am in , the time is 120 min or 2 hours.<br>It seems to wrok just fine!<br>calvin<br><br>

calvin,<br><br><div align="justify">The forums on Hotboards only had a 30 minute envelope for editing for regular visitors. I found this to be far too short a time period. This software allows me to vary this time to whatever I choose; from 0 to infinite. I am trying to set it so that it is reasonable but not too long... hehe.
