Canadian Election My intention, for posting this, is not to repeat a lot of what has already been stated. Rather, to give my own non-scientific understanding of the Canadian political climate.
In case anyone is not in the know, appointed Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney has called an election, April 28th.
It appears from what I am reading, that many on Left, which consists of the Greens, NDP and the Liberals. Are throwing their hat in with the Liberals. They are using lies, such as the Liberals are the only Party that can fight against the threat that Trump wants to annex Canada. They also say that if the Conservatives get in, they will be a pushover for President Trump.
The Right consists of the Conservatives and the PPC (People’s Party of Canada). I am most aligned with the PPC, however they have very little chance to win. Many of my Canadian Christian friends, want to vote for PPC. But feel that this might be the most important election in their lives; so they are probably voting Conservatives.
At present, it appears that although even the Left could not stand Trudeau and because of that, the Conservatives enjoyed a substantial lead. Now that Mark Carney has been appointed interm PM. All seems to be forgiven, despite the fact that if anything Carney pushed the very same things Trudeau did.
This looks to be a very close election.

Let's see now if Trump's 'genius' had the effect that would bring about a much needed change in your country. Or, will you and so many others who value life and liberty and God's law be put under and even worse regime in Canada. We here in the U.S. have been given a reprieve of God's withdrawing His restraint on evil for perhaps 4 more years and many will hear a call to repentance.

One thing that I can say with certainty is God is sovereign with whatever happens in our two countries. It does not matter what happens, or what it looks like. God will accomplish His sovereign plan.
That is a truth I lean on, as I try to be salt and light to a lost generation.

Tom Those who want to blindly believe lies or false narratives will do so…. There’s nothing you can do about that. We should maintain our principles and keep representatives who claim to represent us in line. If they abandon us, they were never for us. Don’t trust narrative & reality shapers who claim to speak for the masses and hold all the answers.

I came across this thoughtful tweet last night….
“Christian political engagement without a strong trust in divine providence threatens to decimate our moral compass because we will come to think that every election is an existential crisis that requires the suspension of principles to win now.”

Anthony, while strong trust in our sovereign God is the number one priority.
I believe quite strongly that if a Christian believes they can help in the sphere of government they should. I am reminded of William Wilberforce, who was a Christian politician in England. It was him and a some others, who in God’s providence, brought the abolition of slavery.

True, but it’s easy to be heavily influenced by the shaping news narrative.. One driven by fatalistic notions and desperation. I’m not sure if or how this may apply to Canada. Hopefully a moral majority can take back their country.

Anthony, it is without question, it would be easy to decimate one’s moral compass. One needs to be have a solid foundation in the Lord to not be overcome by this. I actually, like reminders of that fact.
